A hotel owner who gave up the hospitality to manage an expanding portfolio of holiday lets is embarking on a new venture aimed at the business traveller.

Yorkshire Apartments, launched by Aliosn Hartwell, aims to offer a wide range of luxury apartments to business people.

"Our main target audience is the business traveller seeking a real alternative to a hotel room" said Mrs Hartwell.

"They are particularly popular with secondees on short term contracts and ideal for those relocating to the region, in between house moves and don't want to take on a six month lease on a property."

The two 0dozen serviced and business apartments she manages are located in Harrogate and Leeds, but the aim is to expand to the East and South of the region.

Yorkshire Apartments is the sister company to Mrs Hartwell's 'Harrogate Holiday Cottages' business which offers a portfolio of more than 60 properties in town and rural locations.She added: "We have built up a successful holiday letting business and the time is now right to add another string to our bow."
